Trinidad oil fields
The Oilfields Workers' Trade Union or OWTU is one of the most powerful trade unions in Trinidad and Tobago. Currently led by Ancel Roget, the union was born out of the 1937 labour riots, the union was nominally led by the imprisoned TUB Butler but was actually organised by lawyer Adrian Cola Rienzi. The union was established on July 25, 1937, and formally registered on September 15. Here is a rather extensive collection of photographs I've collected over the years that recollect the stilted bungalows of the colonial era on Trinidad's oil Centrica offloads Trinidad offshore fields to Shell. UK’s Centrica has decided to sell all of its gas fields offshore Trinidad & Tobago to Shell. In a statement on Tuesday, Centrica said Shell would buy its entire portfolio of gas assets, located offshore the Caribbean Country, for an initial cash consideration of $30 million (£24 million).
